  • This program started in April and we conducted 9 cultural events until November.

Home Visit (2)
Date and time: November 28 (Sat), 2015 13:00-17:00
Participants: 22 international students and 9 Japanese host families
Voice of participants - I found it to be extremely enjoyable and educational. It was great fun meeting Mr. and Mrs. xxxx and being invited to their homes.
- Very satisfied Thank you very much for holding such a warm activity for us. I really enjoy the activity very much.
- My host family was very generous and provided us with lots of food. We took a few pictures. Overall, it was a very fun experience ?
it felt like I was visiting my grandparents back home. It was a very homely experience and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. 

Walk around Kamakura
Date:  November 14 (Sat), 2015, 10:00-15:30
Contents: The event was conducted in cooperation with Kamakura Welcome Guides.
We got together at JR Kamakura station then, visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shinto Shrine. After lunch, we moved to Hase to visit Great Buddha(Daibutsu) and Hasedera temple.
This event was attended by 31 international students from 5 different universities and 8 Japanese volunteers. 

Cultural Ambassador Presentation Program - Indian cooking
Date:  October 31 (Sat.) 10:00-14:00
Venue: Cooking Room, Midorigaoka Bunka Kaikan, Meguro-ku
Presenters: Prakhar Misra, Nikhil Bugalia, Shilpa Chandran Rajasree, Mayank Garg (India, University of Tokyo)
Menu: Tikki Chole, Paneer Butter Masala with Roti & Paratha, Mango Lassie
This event was attended by 26 people. 

Cultural Ambassador Presentation Program "Me and Japan"
Date: held on October 24 (Sat), 2015, 13:00-15:00
Presenters: Jinze Yu (China, University of Tokyo) 
Shubham Trivedi (India, University of Tokyo)
 Participants:  36 people including two volunteers

 Enjoy Yukata, Shrine and Festival!
Date: September 5 (Sat), 2015, 13:00-19:00 
Venue:  MIFA - Kumano Shinto Shrine, Jiyugaoka - MIFA
Contents:  Students borrowed YUKATA, a summer cotton kimono, and tried it on.
Then, they visited Kumano Shinto Shrine located in Jiyugaoka, where the chief priest gave lecture on the Shrine and a Shintoism. They also enjoyed the autumn festival held in the area.
After coming back to MIFA, a photo contest was held.
 Participants: 6 international students from 3 different universities enjoyed the event with 16 Japanese volunteers.

This event was attended by 32 people.

Japanese cooking
"Let's cook Japanese food together and make new friends through cooking!"
held on June 6 (Sat), 2014 10:00-14:00
Venue: Cooking Room, Midorigaoka Bunka Kaikan, Meguroku
Menu: pouch of fried tofu filled with sushi rice, Tempura, braised burdock root and carrot in a sweet and salty sauce, grilled eggplant with miso, Miso soup
Participants: 32 people, including 23 international students.

Home Visit (1)
Date and time: May 23 (Sat), 2015 13:00-17:00
Participants: 13 international students and 11 Japanese host families
Voice of participants - It was a wonderful opportunity to meet a local family in their home environment. I learnt many things and was humbled by my host family's hospitality.
- The activity was extremely entertaining and enriching. It facilitated easy exchange of information about culture of my country and Japan. I personally liked the activity as it allowed an experience of the Japanese lifestyle that would now have been possible in any other way.
- The activity was fun and gave me great opportunity to speak with locals as well as visit their home for the first time. I enjoy it very much.
