<The 9th MIFA International Exchange Festival>

As many as 1500 people, including 250 non-Japanese people, kindly visited the festival.
Thank you very much for your attendance.

★Visitors enjoyed ethnic food at six restaurants at Meguro Kumin Campus Park.

★Visitors enjoyed Children and Music of Percussions in the morning, and
American Contemporary Dance, Bon Dance, Hip hop &Gangnam Style.
Iranian, Kyrgyz, Indonesian, Polish, and Sudanese Dance

★Visitors enjoyed display/sale of food and products at booths of 11 embassies in
and in the vicinity of Meguro, interactions with their staff members, Ikebana,
Drink Corner, Disaster Awareness, Craft Making at Children Corner,
Writing System of Languages, Game of GO, Mini-Japanese Conversation Salon, Display of MIFA Photos, Japanese Calligraphy, and Talk on Everyday Life.

★Some non-Japanese enjoyed Try-on Kimono and Japanese Tea Ceremony on B1F.

★We have been sponsored by Weider in Jelly, SAPPORO BREWERIES LTD.,
Haagen-Dazs Japan, Incorporated., and POKKA SAPPORO FOOD & BEVERAGE LTD.
Goods offered by them were given to visitors who took part in Stamp Rally.

If anyone would like to be involved in the festival we are looking for volunteers who can help. Some of the
main areas we need assistance with are:

  • Introduce your cultural games to chidlren, See details
  • Talk about everyday life in Japan in English, See details
  • Talk in Japanese
  • Introduce your culture, language to writing system to others,See details
  • Play Go (external link), the Japanese version of chess,
  • Join dances of various countries,
  • People who would be happy to introduce acts on stage in English,
  • Guide visitors around the venue,
  • Take photos and/or shoot videos of the event,
  • Manage eco-stations, or
  • People able to publicize the festival (Feel free to link to this page

Volunteers who could help organize the 9th MIF Int'l Exchange Festival, which is to be held on Feb.23(Sun.), are wanted. Your application would be very much appreciated. In case of application, please let MIFA know your preferred type of volunteer and what you would be able to do.

    ※Please register yourself as a member of MIFA prior to the festival.
  • Activities
    〔Concierge〕:Guide visitors at the reception and other areas of the venue.
    〔Booth〕:Help organize food/product booths and Eco-stations.
    〔Record〕:Shoot videos and take photos of various activities of the festival.
    〔Japanese Traditional Culture〕:Help organize visitors to learn traditional japanese culture.
    *Ikebana Team: Help visitors experience Ikebana
    *Tea Ceremony Team: Help visitors experience Japanese Tea Ceremony
    *Kimono Team: Help Visitors to put on kimono
    *GO team: Help visitors enjoy the game of GO

    *Drink Corner Team: Brew coffee/tea and sell it to visitors
    ※Sales revenue will be used byMIFA to support its activities.
