めぐろ国際交流フェスティバルは、
世界や日本の文化にふれ、
だれでも気軽に交流できる地域のお祭りです。

音楽や食べ物、いろいろな国や団体のブースを
見て・聞いて・体験して、
日本人も外国人も、大人も子どもも、
いっしょに笑顔になれる時間をすごしましょう。

The Meguro International Friendship Festival is a community festival where you can enjoy cultures from Japan and around the world and connect with others in a friendly and open way.

Enjoy music, food, and booths from different countries and groups.
See, listen, and try new things together —
people from Japan and other countries,
adults and children —
let’s share a day full of smiles.

源氏物語の世界を体験！平安貴族も愛したラッキーアイテム「薬玉」を、竹細工の技法×紙紐でオシャレに手作りしませんか？無病息災の願いを込めて、楽しく伝統を彩りましょう！
Experience the world of “The Tale of Genji”! Craft your own “Kusudama”—a lucky charm loved by ancient nobles—using stylish paper cords and bamboo weaving techniques. Let’s create a charm for health and happiness!

「薬玉（くすだま）」は平安時代に無病息災や長寿を願う縁起物として貴族階級で流行し、源氏物語にも書かれています。江戸時代には、造花等で美しく飾る室内装飾品に変わりました。今回は玉を竹の工芸品である竹玉の技術を応用し紙紐で作ります。体験後はご自宅で好きな香りを入れて室内装飾をお楽しみください。

    • 各回先着5名
    • 小学生以上から参加可能
    • 概ね10歳までは保護者と一緒に作成

 “Kusudama” became popular among the Heian period nobility as a lucky charm to pray for health and longevity, and is even mentioned in The Tale of Genji. By the Edo period, it evolved into a beautiful interior decoration adorned with artificial flowers. In this workshop, we will create these charms using paper cords, applying the traditional techniques of “Take-tama” (bamboo craft).

  • First 5 participants per session.
  • For elementary school students and above.
  • Children approx. 10 years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
