いけ花とは
いけ花とは、色々な 季節の 花や 草木を 花器に 美しく 飾ることです。日本の 伝統芸術の 一つです。
植物の 自然な 美しさを 引き出します。花材（材料）は 少しだけ 使います。空間（何もないところ）も 作品の 大事な 一部です。
花は 剣山（針のようなものが たくさん 並んだ 金属製の 土台）で 留めます。
同じ材料、器、スタイルでも、みんな 違う 作品が できます。個性が 出て おもしろいです。
Ikebana is one of the traditional Japanese arts which put seasonal flowers and plants in containers beautifully. In Ikebana, it is important to bring out natural beauty of the plants, and create an arrangement using empty space around the plants effectively. Unlike Western flower arranging, we use a metal holder with brass needles called “kenzan” to fix the flowers in containers. Even though they use the same floral materials and try the same styles of arranging, each work has its own expression, which makes Ikebana more interesting. Enjoy your time with beautiful flowers.

This event is intended for non-Japanese people to try Ikebana as one of the Japanese tradirional arts. Teachers will guide you how to make a basic form of Ikebana.

Content: Ikebana trial lesson *You can take the flowers at home after the lesson.
Language: A lesson is mainly conducted in Japanese but some of the teachers speak English. If you don’t speak Japanese at all and need to take a lesson in English, please let us know beforehand. We will try arranging an English-speaking teacher for you.
Fee: 2,000 yen
Limited enrollment: 12 ppl / each session (FCFS) *Only non-Japanese can apply for the event.
Note: If you need to cancel, please inform us by noon on May 21st (Tue.). A cancellation fee of 2,000 yen will be incurred after that.
