What is NERIKIRI?

Nerikiri   練り切り is a type of Wagashi (Japanese confectionery) made from well-kneaded dough made by adding sugar and binders to white bean paste.
It is classified as “Jo-namagashi 上生菓子”, a high-quality Japanese confectionery, and served at celebrations and to special guests. It is also served as Omogashi 主菓子 (main confectionery / fresh confectionery) at tea ceremonies.
Nerikiri reflects seasonal motifs in Japan beautifully: cherry blossom in spring, and maple leaves in autumn and so on.
Because of its beauty, it is considered “an edible piece of art.”

You may think Nerikiri is too difficult to make by yourself, but at this event, we arranged the way so that anyone can make tasty Nerikiri .
Let’s enjoy making your own Nerikiri with us!
