Q1. Please tell us your motivation for participating in the home visit.
・I participated in this event to improve my conversation skills. I would also like to know more about the lifestyle patterns of Japanese families.
・This is to talk in Japanese and ask about Japanese life and working life.
Q2. What did you experience during the home visit?
・I experienced many things, such as what time Japanese children usually get out of school, and what kind of views Japanese people have towards their own country.
・I had home-cooked meals and visited shrines and temples with my host family.
Q3. Has your experience changed your perception of Japanese families?
・My understanding of the differences between Taiwanese cram schools and Japanese cram schools, how holidays are spent, and how I think about other countries has changed a bit.

Q4. Please give us your overall evaluation of your home visit.
・I’m glad I was able to have this experience. My home family was kind to me and I had a great time. I also learned many things. Q5. Please give a message to host families.
・It was great because I like having interesting conversations with various people! My family was kind and served me lots of delicious food.

Q1. Please tell us your motivation for participating in the home visit.
・I wanted to start international exchange from a familiar place and better understand the way people overseas think. ・I have always liked participating in international exchange events, I wanted my sons (3 years old and 0 years old) to have an opportunity for international exchange. It is difficult to accept overnight stays when children are young, so I decided to participate because I thought a home visit like this one would be a good fit for us.
・When I lived overseas in the past, I learned that the Americans around me were kind to me, that I was exposed to differences in culture and customs, and that I was able to experience Japan from the other side. I was looking for an opportunity to do a home visit.
・After my child was born, I couldn’t go on the overseas trip that I loved so much, and I wanted to experience cross-cultural exchange in Tokyo. I felt that children’s horizons would be broadened by interacting with foreigners.
Q2. What did you experience during the home visit?
・I was happy that I was able to meet people I would not have met if I had not had this opportunity.
・Basically, we talked a lot to get to know each other. We were able to learn about each other through trivial topics such as family, hobbies, and favorite foods. After that, we introduced Japanese culture in a quiz format while showing photos. Through this experience, we were able to learn about the cultural differences between Malaysia, India, and Japan, which was a lot of fun, and we also learned a lot. The child, who had been shy for a long time, finally opened up and looked happy while playing with his favorite toys.
・We explained about our Japanese-style room, including the sunken kotatsu, tokonoma, shoji, and sliding doors, and served Japanese sweets. We also had them try some flower arranging, and we decorated the tokonoma. Since I was able to speak Japanese, I enjoyed conversation in simple Japanese.
・1. We talked about Japanese food and ate it together. 2.I went to a shrine. 3.I went to the temple. They talked about various cultures such as how to make Japanese food, Shintoism, and Buddhism.
Q3. Has your experience changed your perception of international students?
・I was very happy to be able to introduce Japanese families to people who studied in Japan and are active in the international world.
・Even if international students can speak Japanese and want to make friends with Japanese people, it is difficult. I realized that I want to know more about Japan. I was surprised to find that the international student was more serious, hardworking, and humble than I expected. As we talked, I realized that everyone really loves Japan.
・I gained energy from living and studying hard in a foreign country, away from my parents.
・I felt that everyone was serious, polite, and really liked Japan. I also learned a lot.
Q4. Please give us your overall evaluation of your home visit.
・I am grateful that I was able to meet and get to know people who live nearby.
・It was a very good experience.
・Although it is very difficult to evaluate, I was able to hear about the good things about Japan in a short amount of time and get a glimpse of the differences in culture and customs, and I would like to participate if I have the opportunity.
・I also learned a lot about America and really enjoyed it. It’s 100 points.

・Thank you for visiting us the other day. We had so much fun together with you all! It was the first international experience for my 3-year-old son, and it made a great memory for him!
・Although it was a short time, I would like to ask if you enjoyed the Japanese style room and flower arrangement. Even though I was young, I was made to feel very attentive to him and was able to tell that he loved Japan, which made me happy.
